Story Press: The Malevolent, submitted by Marshall Smith
In June of 1972, a woman appeared at Cedar Senal Hospital wearing nothing but a white gown that was covered in blood. This in itself shouldn’t be too surprising, people have accidents and come to the nearest hospital for medical attention all the time. There were two things about this woman that cause people to flee in terror, and some admittedly vomited as well.
The woman wasn’t exactly human. She resembled something that was more mannequin-like, yet she had that dexterity and fluidity of a normal human. Her face was smooth and as flawless as a mannequin’s face would be, devoid of eyebrows and smeared in make-up. As if that wasn’t scary enough, she also had a kitten clenched between her teeth. Her jaws clamped so unnaturally tightly around it to the point where no teeth could be seen. The blood was still squirting out over her gown and onto the floor. She looked around the room, pulled the kitten out and tossed it aside, then collapsed to the floor.
From the moment that she had stepped into the emergency room entrance, up until she was taken into a room and cleaned up before being prepped for sedation, she was completely calm. In fact, she was so calm that she was expressionless and nearly motionless. The doctor’s had thought it best to restrain her until the authorities could arrive and she didn’t protest. They were unable to get any kind of response from her and most of the staff members felt too uncomfortable to look directly at her for more than a few seconds.
The moment that the staff tried to sedate her, she fought back with extreme force. Two members of the staff were holding her down as her body rose up, her face still blank of expression. She rolled her vacant eyes towards the male doctor in the room and her face twisted with a malevolent grin. As she began to smile the female doctor shrieked in terror and let go of the woman out of terror when she noticed that the woman’s teeth weren’t of a human nature. Her teeth were long, sharp spikes that were too long for her mouth to close fully without causing any damage.
The male doctor stared back at her for a moment before asking, “What the hell are you?”
She cracked her neck down to her shoulder to observe him, still smiling. There was a long pause and the security guards could be heard coming down the hallway. As she heard the guards, she darted forward sinking her teeth into the font of his throat, ripping away his jugular and letting him fall to the floor gasping for air as he choked on his own blood.
She stood up and leaned over to him, her face dangerously close to his as the life began to fade from his eyes. She leaned even closer as she whispered to him, “I … Am .. God: The doctor’s eyes filled with fear as he watched her calmly walk away to greet the security guards. His last view being this demonic maniquine-like being feast on the guard one by one.
This is the only sighting of this creature. Those that witnessed the woman vomited, ran, and most are too afraid to comment about what they had seen.
